Do you know about these foods that can reduce the chances of getting Alzheimers Disease?

Believe it or not!! One of the worst issues that anybody can have in their older stage is having cognitive decline.

Have you come across elderly persons affected by Alzheimer`s Disease or AD in your family?

It must be noted that AD is a neurodegenerative disease that begins slowly but worsens in old age. The bitter fact is that AD is responsible for 60 to 70% cases of dementia. Those with AD would forget even the recent events (due to cognitive decline) that has happened in their lives.

There are several symptoms associated with AD like problems with language, disorientation, mood swings, self neglect and behaviour based issues etc. It is usual to see the AD affected senior citizens withdrawing from family functions or other get together functions etc. They lose their bodily functions gradually leading to death. Though it is entirely not possible to avoid getting AD but there are few foods that would lower the chances of getting this AD.

The foods are

Berries intake:

The flavonoids and anthocyanins present in berries would lower the oxidative stress and inflammation in the brain. Cognitive decline would be lowered.

Leafy greens intake:

Our cognitive functions would get boosted and we would have low chances of AD when we eat leafy greens. The leafy greens are full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants etc

Fatty fish intake:

It must be noted that the presence of omega 3 fatty acids in fatty fishes would reduce inflammation and improve cognitive function. Our brain health would be superb.

Nuts and seeds intake:

Our brain health would get better by eating nuts and seeds that are rich in healthy fats, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals etc. These foods would improve our cognitive function to a huge extent and we would have lower risk of getting AD.

Whole grains intake:

Our brain functions would get superb support by intake of whole grains. The presence of complex carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals etc in the whole grains play a superb role here. It is good to eat whole grain variety of bread pasta and cereals etc

Turmeric intake:

The cucurmin that is present in the turmeric has got anti-inflammatory properties and is a potent antioxidant.  Consuming turmeric would boost brain health and it would reduce the possibilities of getting AD in us.

Beans and legumes intake:

It is believed that consumption of beans and legumes etc would be good for brain health plus improve cognitive function etc.
